This unique penetrating massage gives special attention to the manipulation of deep tissue to relieve chronic stress and release muscle tension. Benefits of deep tissue massage include:

  • Loosens muscles and eliminates blockages that cause tightness and muscle pain.

Thai Massage

Traditional Thai massage has been described as the most relaxing and the most energising form of massage. The therapist uses the palms of the hands, thumbs, knees, elbows and feet in a series of stretches and compressions to treat the whole body using applied pressure to your energy lines. All tension will be released from the body using a combination of gentle and rhythmic yoga stretches, acupressure and muscle compression.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot stone massage is the ultimate in luxury and pampering. Hot basalt stones are placed on your body to allow maximum heat absorption while the therapist performs a full body massage with more hot stones. The heat from the hot stones aids a deep relaxation in the muscles. This is ideal as a serious de-stressor or just a special treat.

Sports recovery, injury massage

Sports recovery massage is a specialized form of massage therapy aimed at enhancing recovery for athletes. It offers several benefits, including: Reduced muscle soreness: Helps alleviate delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) after intense workouts.  Injury prevention: Regular sessions can lower the risk of injuries by improving flexibility and muscle function. Faster recovery: Aids in quicker recovery from workouts and injuries by promoting blood flow and reducing muscle tension. Improved performance: Enhances overall athletic performance by preparing the body for physical activity.  Increase muscle flexibility: Sports massage includes stretching and deep tissue manipulation, which contribute to improved muscle flexibility. Increased flexibility is crucial for athletes as it can enhance joint range of motion, allowing for more efficient movement and reducing the likelihood of injuries.

Cupping

Practised in China as an integral part of Chinese Medicine for the past 5000 years, Cupping Massage is used to soften tight muscles, tone attachments, loosen adhesions, bring hydration and blood flow to the tissues of the body, and drain excess fluid and toxins by opening lymphatic pathways. By creating suction and negative pressure, Cupping Massage brings localised blood supply to the area being worked on thus bringing nourishment and allowing for toxins to be released. Large cups are used for broad areas such as the back where the strong suction will mimic the rolling action of Deep Tissue Massage. The skin will turn red with the strong suction indicating that circulation has been brought to the surface of the skin. Stationary cupping may also be used where the cups remain affixed to a specific area for 5 to 20 minutes, depending on the condition being treated.

Dry Needling & Acupuncture

Dry Needling is a therapeutic treatment where a thin filament needle is inserted into a taut muscle that may contain a trigger point. Trigger points are tight tender knots which can cause pain, weakness and musculoskeletal imbalances.  Trigger points commonly refer pain to different areas and develop because of overloading a muscle, overuse, or when the body is in a stressed and tense state. When the needle is inserted into the trigger point, the muscle will undergo a localised contraction known as a ‘twitch’. You may also feel a deep aching in the muscle, both of which are normal reactions and will result in therapeutic benefit from the technique. After a session of Dry Needling, you should feel a change in the tone of the affected muscle, which will result in improved movement and a reduction in pain.

Red Light Therapy

Red light therapy is a treatment that may help skin, muscle tissue, and other parts of your body heal. It uses low levels of red light to target your skin and cells. It is thought to work by increasing the production of mitochondria, your cells’ energy sources. This may improve cell function and repair. Red light therapy is also sometimes called low-level laser therapy, low-power laser therapy, low-power laser, or photobiomodulation. In red light therapy, you expose your skin to a lamp, device, or laser with a red light. It uses an LED (light-emitting diode) that emits the correct spectrum of light. Red LED light travels deeper into the skin than blue LED light, which is sometimes used to treat skin surface conditions such as acne. When the light enters your skin, your mitochondria soak it up and make more energy, which helps cells repair themselves.  Red light therapy uses very low levels of heat and doesn’t hurt or burn the skin. Unlike the light used in tanning booths, it doesn’t expose your skin to damaging UV rays
